At What Age Should I Retire?

What if you planned your retirement based on the timeline of events in your life rather than a milestone age? Here are some things to think about.

At What Age Should I Retire?

Many people like to ask themselves "At what age should I retire?"  That makes for a great question as well as a great place to start.

People often think of retirement dates in terms milestone ages.

  • "When I turn 30!" (Or 40 or 50 or 60...)
  • "I'll retire when I'm 67!" Or they'll choose one of the other major Social Security ages of 62 or 70.

What if you planned your retirement based on the timeline of events in your life?

We are all on different schedules in our journeys.  Some of you may have your youngest out of secondary education when you are only 46, or 52.  What if you planned around that?

Or maybe you never had children, you are a teacher and your pension kicks in when you are only 55.  Would you then be free to check out?  Or maybe you start doing what you've always wanted to do; you start your own coffee shop.

Your future is only bound by the limitations of your vision and planning.  Think BIGGER.
